America under attack!

It has been said, no nation would dare to attack the USA! Our military is too powerful! Make no mistake, the nation is facing a tremendous enemy who has already crossed the borders and is attacking the very spirit of freedom that gives life and meaning to being American. The enemy is not the politicians or the terrorists. The enemy is invisible, highly intelligent and able to redefine words to destroy the meaning of freedom. Striking at the core of our founding fathers beliefs. SLAVERY is quietly becoming our motto! We are becoming enslaved to our passions!  Our passions are very human and universal.  Shall I make a list of passions in case you don.t recognize them.
1.Sex 2. Food 3. Vulgarity 4. Gambling and much more!

A slave is a slave is a slave! If you act and look like a slave, than you are! If you feel you got to have sex, than you are a slave to it. Today, it's hard to equate sexual activity with procreation at all.
Food, a basic requirement to survive right? Obesity, got to have it, slave to food! Vulgarity, hey I can't express myself any other way, slave again! Gambling, I feel lucky, got to do it, slave again.

The enemy is fierce and knows and creates new, profoundly good  rationale excuses for your slavery and we buy into it, fools or stupid! You decide!

You must think at this point that some kind of religious guru? Way off, no way! Try again!
One of our musical superstars "Mic Jagger" of 40 years ago said it correctly, "I Can't Get No Satisfaction"  Double negative for a point! He was right, plain and simple. We can't satisfy our passions. They literally  keep coming up!

John Adams said that the proposed ideals of government are totally inappropriate without being a PEOPLE OF VIRTUE! So what is virtue? Self-control of passions! Without it, we enslave ourselves!

Spirit of Freedom - 2014 Style

A couple hundred plus years after the revolution, where's that spirit of freedom? Maybe, we need to legislate it back into our society? How can government do that when "We The People" created it in the first place! So what's this spirit anyways? Do we get it at birth? Is it taught to us somewhere?
What's the difference between being an American, Canadian, Russian, or Chinese? Ah, I get it!
It must depends on your place of birth! No, maybe your passport? No, definitely depends on your parents!
Let's compare citizenship to being a Red Sox player. Being a fan of the team and getting all jack up when there winning doesn't make YOU a Red Sox player. You actually have to make the grade and have the right attitude, So what's so different about the American attitude?
Here's some American attitude! Leave me alone! Don't tell me what to do or how to live, who to marry, what I can do with my OWN body. Americans have a constitution that has been used to validate everyone of our self evident rights!
This may be the American attitude of 2014 but I don't see spirit of freedom! At least not the spirit that put a man on the moon or the spirit of courage of the soldier on countless battlefields willing to confront an enemy wanting to shoot them in the face.
Beware of my next posting! It could get very personal!

Spirit of Freedom! - 1776 Style

Europeans were already living in North America a couple a centuries before 1776 and were happy just the way they were without revolution on their mind! So what developed the change of attitude? We have all heard "taxing without representation" and the rest of the rhetoric etc.  Something more was in the air! Thomas Paine,s book "Common Sense" was getting a large sector of the population THINKING! What's this monarchy thing have to do with me in the New World? Birth right titles, blood lines, ruling class etc. "Common Sense" was mocking the monarchy and its very institution!

There is where for a rare moment in time and history, the PEOPLE started daring to say what they always felt in their very nature "I DON'T WANT SOMEONE ELSE TELLING ME WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO LIVE". There was the BIRTH of the most extraordinary system of government the planet had ever seen. All created equal and a right to pursue happiness! WOW! that's different. Then a group of smart people set up a foundation of government with fail safes built in to safeguard the IDEALS of freedom written down in simple english  for all to understand.

For the past 200+ years, WE THE PEOPLE, have been trying with great detail, defining the outer limits of "Doing our thing" 60,s style and beyond. Is it any surprise why people are SO ENRAGED when someone or some government  body dictates what you can or cannot do with your own body etc.? Who you can marry? And the list goes on and on and on! FREEDOM! Can you hear it? With all this freedom going around, why does the government and society seem to be so disfunctional? Why is debt out of control? What happened to "Common Sense"? Has the Spirit of Freedom changed? Maybe it's not working anymore? Maybe we need to take a good look of ourselves again to see what's happening?

Defining Words!

Why is America having such a difficulty defining the simple meaning of words?
How can we as a nation stand together under a banner of freedom when we can't agree as to what freedom is and what is it's origin!

First, let me say that in the title of my book "The Power of Freedom", the word "Power" simply means energy (like electricity). True freedom has ability to create an energy capable of transforming the human condition into something more. To transcend its limitations to something extraordinary!

American Freedom is unlike any other free  nation in the world. Unique in its foundation and its history. The government did not GIVE its people their freedom, rather the people freed themselves and created a government to protect its IDEALS! The founding fathers of this new nation created the greatest experiment in freedom that human history has ever witness.
